WILSON COUNTY CVB AND WSM 650 ANNOUNCE TALENT SEARCH
Lebanon, TN – The Wilson County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and WSM 650 announced the Bates Ford Talent Search to be held during the WSM Live From The Capitol Theatre May 21 and June 25, 2016. The event is sponsored by Bates Ford, Wilson Bank & Trust and Shiloh Music. “Bates Ford is proud to support up and coming talent. We feel like this talent search taking place at the Capitol Theatre is a great place to showcase that talent, said Tony Bates of Bates Ford.
Two Grand Prize Winners will be selected during the Search, and will have the opportunity to open for the Oak Ridge Boys at the Wilson County Fair on August 23, 2016, or for Darryl Worley at the Capitol Theatre on July 9, 2016. Two other winners will have the opportunity to perform on the Fiddlers Grove Opry Stage during the Wilson County Fair.
How The Talent Search Works
The Bates Ford Talent Search is open to solo artists and bands. Information on how to apply will be posted on WSMonline.com. Submissions will be accepted through Sonicbids, email, and USPS. Eligible submissions will be judged based on the criteria listed below. There will be a total of 15 performers per hour during round one.
Thirty contestants selected from the submission period to perform live at the Capitol Theatre on May 21, 2016. Contestants must perform a cover song selected from a list of music provided. A house band will be provided to accompany contestants during this round. Judges will narrow down the contestants down to the top 12 based on the criteria listed below.
The top 12 contestants will perform original songs live at the Capitol Theatre on June 25. Judges will select (2) Grand Prize winners. (1) to open for the Oak Ridge Boys on August 23, at the Wilson County Fair and (1) to open for Darryl Worley on July 9, at the Capitol Theatre. Other select winners to perform on the Fiddlers Grove Opry stage during the Wilson County Fair.
