It's a perfect time to plan a family getaway to Wilson County!  From parks to sports centers and excursion trains, fun awaits the whole family.

Swings, slides and loads of fun await kids at community parks.  Kids can play for hours on end at Charlie Daniels Park home to Planet Playground, a 9,000 square foot fenced in playground and "Squirrel's Run" Toddler Park.  There's also a skate park for the older kids.  Don Fox Park in Lebanon has a playground, one mile track and 60-ft wading pool.

Family sports centers offer a variety of kid-friendly activities and hours of fun at an affordable price.

Cedar Creek Sports Center in Mt. Juliet has putt-putt golf, go karts, bumper boats, batting cages and a game room.

Maple Hill Sports Center in Lebanon has miniature golf, aeroball, batting cages and an arcade.

Watch Middle Tennessee roll past you aboard one of Tennessee Central Railway Museum's special excursion trains.  Special trips planned just for kids include a ride with the Easter Bunny in April and a trip on the North Pole Express to see Santa in December. alt

From a one-room school house and blacksmith cabin to an old-time doctor’s office and jail, Fiddlers Grove Historical Village gives you the opportunity to step back in time. Located at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center, guided or walking tours are available.

From rare cedar glades to scenic lakeshores, kids love to explore the great outdoors at one of two state parks in Wilson County. 

Cedars of Lebanon State Park in Lebanon offers hiking trails, Olympic size swimming pool, playground, softball field, volleyball courts and tennis courts. 

Long Hunter State Park in Mt. Juliet is situated on the shore of J. Percy Priest Lake, which makes it the perfect place for boating and fishing.  The park is also home to 25 miles of hiking trails ranging from one to six miles in length.

A trip to the Stardust Drive-In Theatre is a must for families visiting Wilson County. From March to November, treat the family to a double feature underneath the starry skies at this hidden gem for less than the price of a single ticket to the indoor cinemas. Be sure to grab a snack from the concession stand, whose expansive menu includes onion rings, funnel cakes and all your favorite boxed candies.

An indoor arena filled with gigantic inflatable slides, bounce houses, obstacle courses and more await kids at Crazy Clydes Slides in Lebanon and Pump It Up in Mt. Juliet.  Bring the kids by for a fun-filled way to release some energy. alt
alt Get the creativity flowing at Saturday kids classes at The Art Mill!  With instruction and help of professionals, kids can create their own masterpieces.  Classes fill up fast, so visit the website to reserve a spot.  Kids will experiment with different paint colors, brushes, strokes and painting techniques all while having some fun.
