This will be Watertown’s 13th annual jazz event, and with the addition of a professional event planning firm it is sure to be a hit! The popular festival will be Saturday, July 12, 2008 beginning at 3pm and concluding around midnight. There are two stages set to eliminate down time. Several performers are planned to play for typically an hour each. The blending of small town charm with the smooth sounds of jazz creates a unique atmosphere as listeners relax in their lawn chairs. The audience will also be able to enjoy food from local restaurants, specialty vendors, art displays and local antique gift shops during the day. Amber Sanders, owner of Planit Nashville is enthusiastic with the partnership. She says, “The Watertown Jazz Festival is a true Wilson County gem.” Even though thousands attend the annual festival, there are so many fans of jazz that are unaware of this event. She promises to raise the festival to new heights. Sponsors are an important component of the jazz festival, underwriting the costs of the event while marketing their business to thousands.
