Millworks Theatre Announces it’s
Grand Opening and Open House Celebration

Millworks Theatre announces it Grand Opening with an Open House Celebration on July 11, 2009 from 11 AM to midnight. The Open House will have a "carnival-like" atmosphere with games, activities, music and food. The Chamber of Commerce will perform an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 AM followed by an amazing day of fun for everyone. The theatre is urging the community to come out and see what we're all about! The day will give Wilson County and surrounding communities a sneak preview into the theatre show and music activities we planned at the new venue.

Children's activities will commence with performances of "Sarah and the Secret of the Cellar" at 12 and 2 PM (from the Children's Theatre production as seen at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre) as well as face painting and other fun activities. Children (and adults alike!) can dress up and take pictures in costume at our photo booth where you can be the star. Actors in costume will be strolling around and interacting with guests. Giveaways from area merchants will be drawn all day. Food will be available at the event with local barbecue, hot dogs from a good old fashioned hot dog cart, New Orleans style Snowballs (from DeSoto's Ice Cream Parlor) and more. Local area bands will play all day with feature performances from local artists and groups. Patrons can purchase tickets to Millworks Theatre season shows as well as Flex-Passes that day at our Box Office.

At 7PM, a $10 cover charge will gain your access into a musical evening of fun and dancing. From 7 to 9 PM, local band sensation "The Blues Brokers" will play on the Millworks Theatre stage with great songs and dance music. Followed at 9 PM by Harry Fontana, this Rockabilly and Swing artist will perform until midnight. Harry Fontana, a native of Helsinki, Finland, started his musical career at 7 years old. Inspired by the James Dean Movie "Rebel Without a Cause", he formed his first professional band, The Thunderbirds, at 13. Harry has played regular shows on Lower Broadway in Nashville at Roberts Western World, Layla’s Bluegrass Inn and Wolfie’s on lower Broadway, as well as having appeared at World Famous Tootie’s Orchid Lounge, Legends, Blue Moon Saloon, as well a number of venues in Printers Alley, Second Ave. and all over Nashville.

We're hoping to have a large number of guests turn out for the event so we can "show off" Wilson County's new multifunctional entertainment venue. Visit www.MillworksTheatre.com or call our Box Office at 615-466-5290 for further information about our Open House Celebration. Millworks Theatre is located at The Historic Mill at Lebanon at 300 North Maple Street, Lebanon, TN 37087.
