Cedars of Lebanon State Park

 

The park features over 830 acres open to the public with a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, an Olympic-plus size swimming pool, playground, horseshoe pits, softball feld, volleyball courts, and tennis courts. Summer Hours: 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. Winter Hours: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Lebanon Museum & History Center

 

 

Walk through history of Lebanon from prehistoric to modern times. Audio descriptions by famous residents introduce visitors to the periods on display and take advantage of the touch-screen computers for your own research. Hours are Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. In a joint effort with Cumberland University, special group tours will be held each Sunday between July 15 and October 7. Tours will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00am and admission is FREE, although donations are appreciated.

The Mill At Lebanon

The Mill at Lebanon is an Adaptive Reuse Project of the Former Lebanon Woolen Mill, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a 200,000 sq ft Mixed Use Facility Housing Retail, Restaurants, Offices, Galleries and Museums in addition to the Event Venues.

Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area

 

During the Mississippian Period of Native American habitation in Tennessee, the Cumberland River Valley became the site of a cluster of fortified towns. One such town is now known as Sellars Farm inhabited from 1000 AD to 1300 AD.

At Sellars Farm, a walking tour of the site takes you through the area while learning about the inhabitants. An interpretive kiosk marks the beginning of the tour. For group tour reservation information, please call Long Hunter State Park at 615-885-2422. Open 7-days a week for self-guided tours.

Classic Cars Southeast has the largest showroom and newest restoration center in the southeast. For a $5 entrance fee visitors can take a trip down memory lane in this unique "museum quality" showroom full of classic and muscle cars. A "must see" while visiting Wilson county. Fiddlers Grove Historic Village

 

Historic village of nearly 50 structures, original and replicated, with local historical significance. Witness what life was like in the 1800's for a resident of Wilson County. Self-guided and guided tours available for both individuals and groups.

Long Hunter State Park

 

Long Hunter State Park is situated along the shore of J. Percy Priest Lake. It consists of four units: Couchville, Baker's Grove, Bryant Grove and Sellar's Farm. Picnicking, swimming, hiking, backpacking, boating, fishing, nature photography and wildlife observation are among the activities available to park visitors.

Planned activities include interpretive and recreation programs for the general public and environmental education programs for school and other interested groups.

Tennessee Civil War Trails

 

 

One look at a map should tell you how important Tennessee was during the Civil War. Lebanon is proud to be featured on the Tennessee Civil War Trails! The Trail features Morgan's Defeat, marking the Lebanon's Public Square where Morgan and his men camped before a suprise defeat by the Union. Established in 1846, Historic Cedar Grove Cemetery is the final resting place for more than 150 men who served with the Confederate army. Seawell Hill Camp is where Confederate Gen. John Wheeler's calverymen camped during their August 1864 raid through Tennessee. The Hatton House marks the site of the home of U.S. Congressman and later Confederate Gen. Robert H. Hatton. A statue of Hatton stands in the center of the Lebanon Square as an honor to Gen. Hatton.
