Holiday Lights and Festive Sights in Wilson County!

 

Wilson County has many fun, family-friendly holiday events coming up. We have everything from parades to train rides with Santa, to holiday theatre and drive-thru light displays! Create a new family tradition, such as choosing and cutting down your own Christmas tree at one of our local farms!

 

The Wilson County Convention & Visitors Bureau wishes everyone a safe and Happy Holiday Season! Be sure to check back often for additional holiday events and updates.

 

HOLIDAY PARADES:

 

City of Lebanon Christmas Parade & Jingle Jog 5K

December 4, 2011

Enjoy the holiday cheer with marching bands, floats, Santa and so much more! There's something for everyone at this year's parade! The parade begins at 2:00pm. And don't forget the Jingle Jog 5K, prior to the parade. This fun run follows the parade route and is sure to warm your heart!

City of Mt. Juliet Christmas Parade

December 3, 2011

Don’t miss out because this family fun event happens only once a year. Enjoy the holiday cheer at this year's parade themed "Toy Soldier Christmas Honoring Our Troops."  The parade begins at 11:00am.

Cumberland University's "Trees of the Hall"

November 29, 2011

Show off your charitable spirit with Cumberland University's "Trees of the Hall."  This auction of festively decorated trees takes place in Memorial Hall on campus and benefits the School of Music and the Arts.  The tree preview and silent auction with wine and hor d'oeuvres will begin at 6 p.m.  Entertainment and a live auction with the  Suzuki Violin Players and the University Choir start at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $5 at the door.

Historic Lebanon Tomorrow's 4th Annual Tour of Historic Places

and Victorian Christmas

December 3, 2011

Come and view some of Lebanon's most famous and historic places.  Ticket prices for the historic tour are $10.  And celebrate Christmas the old fashioned way with the Victorian Christmas, which will host strolling characters and actors, carriage rides, and the holiday shopping village.  This event is free and open to the public.  Both events take place Saturday evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

DRIVE-THRU LIGHT DISPLAYS:


Festival of Lights

November 25-December 26, every Thursday through Sunday, 2011

This holiday driving tour is open from 5 p.m.-9 p.m., Thursday through Sunday in Fiddlers Grove Historic Village at the Wilson County Fairgrounds through the month of December. This beautiful display of lights will bring a smile to anyone's face! Admission is $5 per car. Take I-40 to Exit 239 and take US-70W/Sparta Pike toward Lebanon. Located at 945 E. Baddour Pkwy. The entrance is on the right.

Chad's Winter Wonderland

November 24 - December 30, 2011

This famous drive-thru display of lights is located just off Hwy. 109 in Lebanon. With over two-million lights, Chad's is open Sunday-Thursday, 5-10pm and Friday-Saturday, 5-11pm. Admission is $10 per car. Take I-40E to Hwy. 109. Go north on Hwy. 109 and take a right on to E. Old Laguardo Rd. House is on the right.

Christmas Land

November 18 - December 26, 2011

Christmas Land will bring the true joy of Christmas to your family! This FREE drive-thru light display is located at the home of Pastor Kenneth Bowen of Unity Baptist Church. Open Sunday-Thursday, 5-9p.m., and Friday-Saturday, 5-10pm, Christmas Land is located at 1130 Trousdale Ferry Pike in Lebanon. Celebrate Christmas Land's 15th year of bringing joy to others with their light display. Donations are welcome. Take I-40E to Exit 239 and take US-70W/Sparta Pike toward Lebanon. Take a slight right at E. Baddour Pkwy., and turn left on to Trousdale Ferry Pike. House is located on the right.

Volunteer Tree Farm

Go green and buy locally as you choose and cut your own Christmas tree the old-fashioned way! Choose from Virginia Pine, White Pine, Leyland Cypress and Canaan Fir. The farm also offers fresh wreaths. Enjoy FREE spiced tea, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as free coloring books and candy canes for the kids. Located at 525 Academy Rd. in Lebanon, Volunteer Tree Farm is open Friday, noon-5pm and Saturday-Sunday, 9am-5pm. Cash/check only. Take I-40E to Exit 232-B. Follow Hwy. 109 for 7.5 miles and turn right on to Academy Rd. Volunteer Tree Farm is located about 2 miles down Academy Rd..

TreeLand

TreeLand has over 1000 trees available for sale on approximately 14 acres, mostly which are Virginia Pine. Sit by the campfire while you enjoy FREE hot spiced cider, hot chocolate and cookies! Owned by Chris and Rhonda Leauber, Treeland is open 8am-dark on Saturdays and Sundays, and on weekdays by appointment only. Prices vary (cash/check only).
